Prayer & Worship

Prayer and worship our central to the daily life of our school. We aim to help the children to value and respect the power of prayer and its place in their relationship with God.

Opportunities are provided to nurture the spiritual growth and development of our pupils through participation in a variety of forms of worship and through experiencing all forms of prayer.

Pupils are actively involved in planning and leading worship, both in class and whole school settings. Shared acts of worship take place in a atmosphere of reflection in which we encourage each other to listen to and respond to God.

Each class has a prayer area which provides a focus for prayer in the classroom. Children are activily encouraged to develop their  individual prayer life by writing their own prayers, offering spontanious prayers during times of reflection and participating fully in daily prayers.

At Larmenier & Sacred Heart, the pupils are are taught to know by heart the following prayers:

Parents are encouraged to share these prayers at home with their children.
